LIMA -- Valerie Johnson, 70, of Lima, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 8:38 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born on October 31, 1952 in Lima to the late Val and Elizabeth {Adam} Henson.
Valerie was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School, class of 1970. She retired from Whirlpool Corporation and later worked at Ray's Supermarket. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Catholic Church and loved her family and of course her beloved fur baby Ava.
She is survived by her son: William (Stacee) Johnson, daughter: Anna (Jon) Chambers, grandchildren: Mychaela, Makenna, and Logan Johnson, Kyra (Mark) Lore, Madalynn, Julianna, and Jon Jr. Chambers, great-granddaughter: Noah Chambers, and siblings: Karen (Mike) Corcoran, Joyce Stombaugh, David (Randee) Henson, Val (Diane) Henson, Carla (William) Hill, Carmen (Jody) Henson, and Elizabeth (Mike) Dible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Keith and John Henson.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 12-8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at St. John's Catholic Church, Lima. Friends may visit one hour prior to mass at the funeral home. Fr. David Ritchie and Fr. David Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
