Larry E. Easterday, 85, of O'Fallon, MO, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born on February 6, 1941 in Coalville, UT, the youngest of five brothers, to Ruby and Everett Easterday. Soon after, the Easterdays moved to Northeast Missouri and began farming. Larry attended the local schools in Milan, MO and graduated from Milan High School in 1959. After high school, Larry attended Northeast Missouri State College in Kirksville, MO, now Truman State University. He graduated with a degree in Secondary Education major in Social Studies and History with a minor in Industrial Arts. Larry then completed a Masters in History Education. Larry met the love of his life, Sharon, at the corner of Mullanix and Normal Street in Kirksville, while they were both attending college together. They were married on June 2, 1963, in Kirksville at First Baptist Church. To this union were born three children: Glenda, David, and Steven.
Larry worked for the Fort Zumwalt School District, teaching Industrial Arts for 22 years until his retirement in 1994. He started his career in education in 1965, teaching Social Studies and History at Knox County High School in Edina, MO where he also coached freshman football. Larry and Sharon moved their family to O'Fallon, MO, in 1972, where Larry taught Industrial Arts for Fort Zumwalt School District. O'Fallon was their home for the remainder of their lives.
Larry retired from Fort Zumwalt School District in 1994. Larry was a skilled cabinet maker and carpenter. Larry also loved genealogy. Sharon and Larry took many trips researching family genealogy and Larry spent lots of time documenting family history after his retirement. His wife and children were always a priority. Larry enjoyed traveling with Sharon. They especially enjoyed the Christmas lights in Branson, MO. Larry was a member of O'Fallon First Baptist Church.
Remaining to cherish Larry's memory are children: Glenda A. Easterday of O'Fallon, David E. (Theresa) Easterday of Troy, Steven C. (Stephanie) Easterday of Ellisville; grandchildren: Justin Easterday, Jacob (Haley) Easterday, Blake Easterday, Timothy (Kaci) Easterday, Grace Easterday, Logan Pickett, Hannah Easterday great-grandchildren: Kinsley Easterday, Caleb Easterday, Emmett Esterday, Galilee Easterday, Jordan Easterday, Brother, Glen Easterday and many other cherished relatives.
Preceding Larry in death are: Sharon L. Thomas Easterday, spouse of 56 years; Parents Ruby and Everett Easterday; brothers Dean Easterday, Leland Easterday, Wayne Easterday.
Visitation scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of O'Fallon. Dr. Micheal Atherton to officiate.
