Doug Clampet Obituary

Doug "Maytag" Clampet 1950 - 2016
CHESTNUT, IL - Doug "Maytag" Clampet, 65, of Chestnut, Ill., passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016, at his home.
Doug was born Aug. 16, 1950, in Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Richard and A. Genevieve (Presswood) Clampet Sr. He married Julie McCurry on Dec. 4, 1992, in Mt. Pulaski, Ill. She survives.
Doug is also survived by his sons, Levi Clampet of Chestnut, and Scott Clampet of Mt. Pulaski; his stepdaughters: April (James) Breedwell of New Holland, Dawn Mason of Lincoln, and Tanya (Frank Spinner) Mason of Chestnut; his sisters, Brenda (Willie) Rentmeister of Mt. Pulaski, and Nancy (Scott Driskell) Knopp of Pinckneyville; his brother, Thomas (Judy) Clampet of Southern Ill.; and his grandchildren: Dustin, Alexis, Damian, Caleb, and Bradley.
Doug proudly served in the U.S. Army. Doug was a truck driver for ATA of Illinois for many years. He was a member of The Mt. Pulaski American Legion Post #447 and the Chestnut Men's Club.
A memorial service will be held for Doug at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at his home where military rites will be accorded at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Doug's name to his family.
Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
