Charles Mansfield Sprague

1939 - 2024

Charles Mansfield Sprague, aged 84, of Florence, KY, peacefully passed away on May 9, 2024, at the Summit of Edgewood. Born on August 29, 1939, he was the son of Charles Andrews and Lillian (Oelschlager) Sprague. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran. Professionally, Charles dedicated over 30 years of his life to Hunter, Luhrs, Mainship, and Silverton Boats, where his expertise in sales and business development left an indelible mark. His passion for his work was matched only by his zest for life. An individual beloved by all who knew him, Charles had a contagious sense of humor and a love for joking that would light up any room. He found joy in staying active, indulging his interests in exercise, cars, and boats. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice Fay Langley Sprague, his sister Barbara Domaleski, and granddaughter Allison Brooks. He is survived by his daughters Fay Parker (Wayne), Jan Reis (Gene), and Jill Hamlin (Barry), as well as his grandchildren: Marissa Cruz, Natalie Cassiano, Katie Lindsey, Caroline Marklay, Madeline Hamlin, and Jake Hamlin. He also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Jill Wolfe (Thad), and brother Moses Strathern. A Memorial Service to celebrate Charles's life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 12:30 pm at Holy Cross Church in Latonia, KY. Interment will be held privately by the family at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsen, AL.
