Michael Barber Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Michael Deshun Barber, who left us too soon on 04/30/25 in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 48. He was a devoted son, a caring brother, a loving father, and a treasured uncle, cousin, and friend. His presence brought light and joy to the lives of so many, and though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Michael was born to Carolyn Ann Sutton and Christopher Agusta Barber on September 6, 1976, in San Diego, CA. From an early age, he possessed warmth and generosity that endeared him to everyone he met. His kindness, laughter, and unwavering support touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had an incredible gift for making people smile, always knowing the perfect joke to lift a heavy heart or the right words to encourage a friend in need. If there was ever a moment when someone needed help, Michael was the one you could count on-ready with an open hand, a listening ear, or a joke to lighten the mood.
Growing up, Michael loved to play sports, finding joy in competition, teamwork, and the thrill of the game. Whether on the field or the court, he brought the same energy and determination that defined him in all aspects of life. His love for sports reflected his character, always pushing himself to improve, support those around him, and enjoy every moment to the fullest.
Michael attended Fulton Elementary, Keiller Middle School where he formed lifelong friendships and built the foundation for his future. He graduated from Glen Mills High School in Glen Mills, PA ready to take on the world with his characteristic optimism and determination. Over the years, he embraced various career paths, working in multiple roles and industries, each one adding to his wealth of experience. Whether he was leading a team, problem-solving, or simply offering a kind word to a colleague, Michael left a lasting impression wherever he went. His ability to connect with people made him not just a hard worker, but someone truly unforgettable.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Michael Ambro Penniman; his grandmothers, Ernestine Louise Sutton, and Lorraine Dillepree. Though they are no longer here, their love and influence helped shape the incredible person he became. Now reunited with those who passed before him, Michael's light continues to shine through the stories, laughter, and cherished moments shared by all who knew him.
