Dear Theresa and Family, I was saddened to hear about George's tragic passing. George and I became friends in the U S Army. We were among the group of 80 men that became known as the "Gang from Detroit" ... All drafted during the Vietnam era around May 21, 1966. and all became Military Policemen stationed at Ft Bragg, NC until May 1968. We met a few times as a group after our return to civilian life and like most others our lives took us in different directions. We were reunited with George in 1995 when we began to organize for a 30 year reunion with the group planned for 1996. You and George were gracious enough to host one of our planning meetings at your home. It was a pleasure to have served with George, sharing stories about living on the Eastside of Detroit and our military experiences. May God Bless You George, May you now Rest in Peace.

I am heartbroken to hear the news of George's passing. George and the entire Rappold family were wonderful neighbors of mine on Payton growing up. They were the perfect family! My sympathy to all of George's family. May he rest in peace along with his parents and brothers, David and Paul.

Dear Terry, John, Cindy, Kathy, Tom and Family -- We are so saddened upon hearing the news of George's tragic and untimely passing. Through Cindy and John, we always felt George (and you) as part of our extended family. He passed along some his clothes items to me and I will always be thankful for that. We will miss her so much. May God grant George eternal rest and reunited in heaven with his Mom, Dad, David and Paul. Amen.
