Kevin Simone Obituary
KEVIN P. Born December 09, 1957, departed this life on September 5, 2016. He is survived by loving family, including sons, Corey and Kyle; sisters, Patsy Kozma and Dee Dee King; brother, Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin loved working in the excavating business, owning his own company for many years. For leisure, he enjoyed bow hunting, and boating, having lived on Woodland Lake most of his life. He also mentored his sons in Motocross motorcycle racing for many years. A Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 5051 Pleasant Valley Road, Brighton.

I will never forget the night I spent at the Simone's on Oak Knoll at Woodland Lake. At the time I was 13 years old, and had a terrible crush on a girl named Karen Ratelle, who lived across the lake off Hilton Road. Despite it being the middle of February, Kevin accompanied me across frozen Woodland Lake late one Saturday night as we walked a half-mile or so in the bitter cold just so that I could stand and stare at Karen's house and....pine. That was it, I just stood and stared, too scared to knock on the door. I believe I may have even shed an adolescent tear or two. And I'll never forget Kevin putting his arm around my shoulder, gently consoling me, "It'll be alright, Dave. It'll be okay." And then we walked home.
While, due to age difference and geography we weren't able to maintain much of a friendship beyond that time long ago, I knew even then that Kevin was the sweetest, kindest guy you could ever hope to meet. And nearly 44 years later, after a lifetime of meeting people, I can state this without equivocation.
Condolences to Dee Dee and the entire family. RIP, Tom. Thanks for one of my fondest memories.

I am sad beyond words at Kevin's passing. During my time with Kevin as his teacher and coach he was a source of complete joyfulness. He made me and everyone else around him happy with his infectious smile and playfulness.

Ive only had the pleasure of knowing kevin for about a year but he holds a special place in my heart. He was a very kind and caring man . He will be missed by many. Im thankful Randy and i got to talk to him this past weekend . Prayers and thoughts to kevins family and life long friends. Im sorry for everyones loss.
