Donald Rorick Obituary

Donald Wayne Rorick, of Livingston, MT passed away at Spring Creek Inn Memory Care in Bozeman, MT on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. He was 67 years old.

Don was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 15th, 1957 to Carl and Martha Rorick. Don grew up travelling the United States with his parents and older brother Gail in a school bus turned homemade RV. Together, they also spent time living in South America. The families travels eventually landed them in Phoenix, AZ where Don married Brenda Wright August 29th, 1980: there, they welcomed two boys into the family. Don was a "jack of all trades" and while in Phoenix he pursued work as an apprentice electrician and the fan favorite wedding singer. Don and Brenda moved to Livingston, MT in 1987 where he tried his hand bar tending, construction, insulation and finally, mining at Stillwater Mine when he retired in 2022.

Don had many areas of interest. He was well known as a "fixer" and could often be found helping family and friends in all manner of need. He loved working on his yard and took great pride in keeping it nice and neat. In the nice weather, Don could be found golfing and even installed his own putting green at home. In the winter, Don could be found shooting pool with his wife. Among one of his neatest achievements is his Taekwondo journey; Don was a student at Livingston Marital Arts where he attended classes with a variety of family and where he became affectionately known as "Papa Don" by all of the younger students. Don's most recent belt promotion was for 3rd Kup, a high blue belt. And, finally, one of his most memorable talents was his passion for music. A treasured memory for Brenda is listening to a CD of Don singing "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley and "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife" by Marty Robbins: a valentine gift that will never be forgotten.

Don passed away after a hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.

Don is survived by his wife, Brenda Rorick, his sons, Marty (Kristina) Rorick, Matt Rorick, his niece like a daughter, Sonya Lohman, his granddaughters, Anna Rorick, Kennedy Rorick, his sister in law, Lisa Rorick, nephew Bryan (Marsha) Rorick, niece, Trisha (Joey) Strobel, great niece Bailey (Jesus) Magdaleno, great nephews, Carl Rorick, Little Joey Strobel, Clayton Strobel, great-great niece Daphne Rorick, and many other nieces and nephews that he was unable to get to know as well as those listed.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Carl Rorick, mother, Martha Danks, step-father, Al Danks and his brother, Gail Rorick
