Diego Menchaca Obituary

Dr. Diego Francisco Menchaca was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven early Sunday morning on November 27, 2022 at the age of 64. Dr. Menchaca was a tremendous father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered as a great presence in the Laredo medical community, having served more than 24 years as a Family Practice Doctor in the area. He was born and raised in Laredo and followed his dream of attending medical school in La Universidad de Monterrey. Dr. Menchaca later moved to Illinois to complete his medical residency. There, he grew his medical career in addition to his family. Dr. Menchaca finally moved back home to Laredo in 1998 where he opened his very own Family Practice.

Dr. Menchaca was preceded in passing by his beloved first wife of 33 years, Leticia Adriana Menchaca (2015), whom he first met at the tender age of 13. He was also preceded in passing by his parents, Ramiro and Maria Rosa Menchaca. Dr. Menchaca is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Annabelle Garza Menchaca; loving children, Celina Rodriguez (Miguel), Diego F. Menchaca II (Andrea), Ricardo Menchaca (Lauren), Annabelle Garcia (Rene), Edmundo Lozano (Abby), Alejandro Lozano (Kokilapriya), and Karissa Garza (Ever); and plentiful and adored grandchildren, Luke, Carolina, Shelby, Adam, Mia, Ella, Matteo, Elina, Emma, and Raj. He is further survived by his siblings, Gina (Edmundo) Gonzalez, Ramiro (Angeles) Menchaca, Rodrigo (Teresa) Menchaca, Manuel (Loyda) Menchaca, and Sergio (Gabriela) Menchaca; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

Dr. Menchaca will be remembered for his enormously positive personality and his devotion to serving others, especially his beloved community. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious, he could put a smile on anyone's face. Dr. Menchaca was extremely warm and inviting, making sure all felt welcome in his presence.
