Glenn Farley Obituary

Glenn Gregory Farley, 66, entered into eternal rest to behold the face of God on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Judy Farley.

Glenn was born in Pasadena, Texas on April 6, 1957, and raised in Alvin, Texas. He fell in love with baseball at a young age, showcasing his natural athleticism by playing for the Bombers, a little league team in Alvin, Texas, and later pitching for Alvin High School. His passion for the sport led him to continue his baseball journey at Wharton County Junior College in 1975, followed by Texas Southmost College in 1976. Glenn pursued his education alongside his athletic pursuits, ultimately graduating from the University of Texas in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in Insurance.

Following in his father's footsteps, Glenn embarked on his insurance career in 1979 at Austin Insurance Agency. In 1986, he relocated to Laredo, Texas, to join Casso, Farley, Quinn Insurance Agency, and in 1994, he established Farley & Associates, where he served as the founder and president. His dedication and vision led to the acquisition of Laredo Insurance Agency Inc from Dallas Moore in 2001, which later evolved into Laredo Commercial Insurance Agency.

Glenn's life was characterized by his zest for living to the fullest. He was a devoted family man, successful businessman, adept handyman, loyal friend, and always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. His love for farming and desire to "live off the grid" reflected his adventurous spirit and determination to pursue his dreams of farming. After retirement, his plans were to build a home at his ranch, Paradise Farms.

Known for his wit and wisdom, Glenn was the King of one-liners, his best one, "Ain't no lesson like a bought lesson." Above all, he cherished his role as a father, doing everything in his power for his children. His legacy of love, determination, and humor will live on in them and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

"The one and only Glenn Farley" will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife Mirtha Farley; children, Kristin Brown, Amanda (Ethan) Richey, Kristina (Justin) Hosek, Kathryn (Steven) Cadena, Kevin (Gitzel) Farley, and Kelsey (Luis) Farley De Hoyos, 12 grandchildren; brother, Joseph Farley; sisters, Phyllis Long and Jenny Nelson; and other family members, his work family, and friends. Pallbearers will be: Kevin Farley, Joseph Farley, Justin Hosek, Steven Cadena, Luis De Hoyos, Brandon Cadena. Honorary pallbearer Ruben Rodriguez.

The Farley Family will host a Celebration of Life Monday, April 8, 2024, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will be officiated by Pastor Richard Womble the following morning at 10 am.
