James Trautmann Obituary

James Andrew "Jay" Trautmann
04/22/1951 - 01/14/2025
James Andrew "Jay" Trautmann, 73, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on January 14, 2025. Jay was born in Laredo, Texas, and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Jay was married to Analee for 48 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and shared adventures. He was a devoted father and a fun and adored grandfather who brought joy and laughter to his grandchildren. His family will always remember him as their biggest supporter and a source of endless love and encouragement.

Jay was a successful land developer and home builder, known for his work ethic and vision. Outside of his professional accomplishments, he was an avid hunter, golfer, and card player. Jay had a playful spirit and a remarkable ability to bring people together. He cherished time spent surrounded by his abundance of friends and family.

Above all, Jay will be remembered for his integrity, loyalty, and generosity and for being a loving man who deeply adored his family and inspired those around him with his warmth and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Trautmann and Veronica Farrell Trautmann, and his sisters, Anne Stanfill and Eileen Trautmann. Jay is survived by his wife, Analee Trautmann; his children, Jana (John) Palosi, James "Jay" Trautmann, Meghan (Sergio) Fernandez; five grandchildren, Haeden, Liam, Giuliana, Sebastian, and Jana; brothers, Bob Trautmann (Irma), Steve (Sara), Danny (Kelly); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jay's legacy of love and kindness lives on in his family and the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of Jay's life will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, Texas 78232, on Saturday, January 18, 2025 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Father Martin Leopold, officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Jay's memory at www.alz.org.

Jay's love, laughter, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jay was always a joy to be around. Always a smile on his face and something humorous to say. I first saw Jay when he was three years old at the old Laredo Country Club swimming pool at the Casa Blanca golf course. I was eight years older than Jay, but he was the star of day, doing flips off the diving board and all manner of tricks. Nobody could keep up with him. Over the years I enjoyed playing golf and cards with him. Gone too soon, he will be missed. My condolences to Annalee and to all of his family members.
