Gabriel Vargas Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Griselle, of 11 years. The Vargas Family: His parents Gabriel Sr. and Nieves of Galt, CA, his brother Albert, sister-in-law Valerie and nephew Joshua of Elk Grove, CA. His niece Casandra Calderon of Galt, CA, his sister Mona Vargas of Rodgers, AK and his in-laws The Perez-Santos Family of Sacramento, CA.
After graduating from Galt High School in 1981, he honorably served in the Navy from 1981-1985, where he was stationed at Millington, TN for Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Technician Training, as well as in the Naval Air Station - Moffett Field, CA where he assigned to the squadron VP-50. He did two West-Pacific tours and one year at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
He will be fondly remembered by the entire Vargas-Santos-Perez family for his good, fun, and loving personality, his excellent BBQ skills, and his faithful fan support for the Oakland Raiders, and his love of computers and video games.
Gabe's life will be celebrated Sunday, Feb. 17th from 12-5 p.m. at East Lawn Mortuary
3939 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento. There will be a Mass at The Church of Saint Stephen at 5461 44th St. in Sacramento on Monday, Feb. 18th at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow later.

I never met Raymond, but worked with his brother, Albert. His sarcastic but fun humor… Though individuals, I bet they are one in the same! The best to the Vargas family and Raymond in heaven at way to young of an age.

Gabe, my bro, my friend, my family, you are THE BEST. My family & I were truly blessed w/ you being in our lives. I am so proud to have called you my brother-in-law and wouldn't have wanted anyone else to marry my beloved sister. I'm not saying "Goodbye" to you; just "See you later". We all have to take the same path sooner or later, and I look forward to a great family reunion in heaven w/ all our loved ones, whenever the Lord calls us home. You will always be remembered.
