Gerald Lachenmeier Obituary

Jerry was born in Kulm, North Dakota in January of 1945 to Henry and Cora Lachenmeier. He passed away on September 24, 2021 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's. He was the oldest of 3 children and when his family moved to Lodi in 1955, the children all started school the day after they arrived. He graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1963. He was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam during the war from January 1967 to January 1968. He worked at Goehring Meat Co for 26 years and then he started his own carpet cleaning business and was owner/operator for 20 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Gina (Robert) Aki; his beloved grandchildren, Koby and Karli; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen (Jim) Worthington and Angie (Mike) Reiswig; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Ken Towns; nieces, Tara, Corrine, Nicole and Tifni; and nephews, Ryan and Todd.
Jerry's greatest joy in his life were his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan at all of their sporting events and school activities. You could always see him in the stands cheering them on, he never missed an activity.
He also treasured family vacations, some of his favorites were Disney World, Disneyland and for his 60th birthday, watching the grandkids learn to ski and snowboard in Lake Tahoe. Koby and Karli still talk about those vacations today. Bokey, as the kids called him, was never afraid to ride any of the rides - he had as much fun as the kids. In his retirement plus through the years prior, he loved playing fantasy football with his buddies, including Robert, his son-in-law. He would always have two TV's going at the same time so he never missed a moment of his favorite teams, the Raiders and the Dodgers.
He, along with his sense of humor and quick wit, will be deeply missed.
There will be no services per his request.
He will be laid to rest in Dixon at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, which is a cemetery for Veterans.

So sorry to hear about Jerry's passing. Jerry introduced me to fantasy football back in the 80's; we had great times talking football and baseball (I'm a big Dodger fan too).

Sharon and family, my condolences. It has been awhile since I have seen Jerry. Jerry offered me a job at Goehring Meat as a struggling young man. After that, for a lot of years we enjoyed playing fantasy football. We even teamed up to play together in national leagues. Our biggest thing in common, the Los Angeles Dodgers!!! Lots of good times that I will always remember.

My condolences to Jerry's family. Jerry became my instant friend in 1955 when he arrived in Lodi. He was in my HS graduating class 1963. Also a co-worker at Goehring Meat in 60-70s. We drifted apart as years passed. Will always remember those young years.
