Lisa Machado Obituary

Lisa Lynn (Kamrar) Machado was born December 17, 1956, in Sacramento, California to Donald and Jacqueline Kamrar. She attended Pope Avenue School. She moved with her family to Lodi in 1970. She graduated from Galt High School in 1975. Lisa attended Delta College and received a scholarship to the nursing program. At the age of 38 years, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. When Lisa was in remission, she went to work as a Realtor for Prudential. Her cancer returned once again. She later opened Elegant Illusions Consignment Store. She later took trips to China with her sister, a cruise with her daughter, and a trip to Portugal with her husband. She also enjoyed four wheeling, dancing, and she was the ultimate shopper. After a sixteen year battle with cancer, she passed away at Hospice House of San Joaquin on October 10, 2011. Lisa is survived by her parents, Donald Kamrar and Jacqueline Callenea; husband, John Machado; children, Kayleigh (David) Merin, Jennifer Machado, and Johnny (Tracy) Machado; grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey, Johnny, and Clair; and sister, Leslie Betz. Friends are invited to visit Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 800 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204 or to the local animal shelter. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Lisa,

I wish that I could have known you for a little longer. The time that we did get to spend together opened my eyes to what an amazing woman you were. Your strength and will is nothing short of amazing. You did the most amazing job raising your daughter to be the girl she is today. You could not have done a better job with her, and I thank you for that. You will always be in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. I am truly blessed that I got to spend the time I did with you. You were an amazing woman and mother.

I love you

Dear Lisa,

Although I have not spent a lot of time with you, the interactions we have had over the years have been so positive. I will always remember your warmth and smiles, your great sense of humor, and your love for animals. Even at times when you were not feeling well, you still showed so much concern for others. And when you found a cat on the side of the road with a litter of kittens, you nursed them and made sure everyone of them had a home. We are lucky enough to have "Pooky" from that litter and I will remember your kind heart every time I pet my wonderful cat. Thank you for all of the goodness you have given to those around, people and animals alike.
