Rose Bohnet Obituary

Rose Becker Bohnet, 96, of Lodi, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2009 following a very short stay in a Sacramento hospital.
She was born December 7, 1912 in Lehr, North Dakota to Samuel and Caroline Becker, the oldest of four children.
Upon graduating from high school in 1933, she enrolled for one year in the State Teachers College. In 1936 she moved to Lodi. She attended a business school in Stockton and during WWII she did clerical work at Sharp's Army Depot.
On Dec. 7, 1947 she married Arno Bohnet in Lodi and they made their home on the family ranch south of Lodi. Following Arno's sudden death in 1965, she and her young son moved into town.
Survived by her son, Gary Bohnet and wife, Rayna; step-daughters, Dona Bohnet of Lodi and Arline O'Briant of Poway, CA and brother, Albert Becker of Lodi along with two grandchildren, Mark O'Briant and wife, Julie of Corvallis, OR, Ross O'Briant of Carlsbad, CA, and two great-grandchildren Bailey and David.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Arno of 18 years; sisters, Esther Schill and Alma Merkel, and her parents.
Rose was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church serving faithfully until her health prevented her from doing so. She served as Deaconess and enjoyed teaching Sunday School for 27 years in the pre-school and primary departments. She also helped during vacation bible school.
Visitation is Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church. Committal is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund, 801 S. Lwr. Sacramento Rd., Lodi 95242 or a charity of one's choice.
Appreciation is expressed to those who cared for her these past three years while she was at Vienna Convalescent Hospital.
