Scott Burnett Obituary

On August 15th, 2024, Scott Weldon Burnett, our beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully at home. He was 66 years old.
Scott was born February 4th, 1958, in Lodi to Bob and Maureen Burnett. He graduated from Lodi High School where he played football and was active in journalism contributing to the school's newspaper and yearbook.
He attended U.C. Santa Barbara graduating with a degree in History. While at Santa Barbara he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Scott later earned a master's degree in Education from the University of Pacific. He worked as a Special Education teacher at the Children's Home of Stockton and the Tracy Unified School District.
Scott was most proud of being a loving husband to Patty for 38 years and being a father to two energetic boys, Stuart and Steven. He was involved in all of their athletic endeavors from coaching, spectating, cheerleading, and serving on several athletic boards throughout the years.
Scott's love of life was unmatched. He enjoyed videography, traveling, snow skiing, laughing with friends, reading and listening to music. He will be missed.
Scott is survived by his wife Patty; his son Steven Burnett of San Diego and his brother Patrick (Joan) Burnett of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his son Stuart Burnett.
A Celebration of Life (open house) will be held Friday September 27th at Elkhorn Golf Club in Stockton from 4-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Hospice of San Joaquin or The Parkinson's Foundation.

My memories of Scott and Pat go back to early childhood. I only occasionally ran into him as an adult and always felt like I was super lucky to have had time with him. In my memory, he was unfailingly kind, funny, thoughtful of others and super smart. We had lots of great adventures in high school and I'm very sorry for the loss of this remarkable man.

I was very fortunate to treat Scott as a patient before I retired. He was an inspiration for me a he stoically bore the discomfort and disability that attended his illness. I extend my condolences to his loving wife who did a grat job. May he rest in Peace.

Patty and the Burnett and Berg families,
I didn´t see Scott often after high school, but every time our paths crossed it was a joy! Scott was a wonderful caring person. Always positive. Always funny. Take comfort in knowing that those who knew Scott were glad they did and I think better because of it.
