Ferne Stanley Obituary

Ferne Ann (Cruise) Stanley, youngest child of Floyd and Ida (Edwards) Cruise, was born in Jackson County, Michigan, June 26, 1933, and died Feb. 24, 2025, in Fairfield County, Ohio.

She was a 1951 graduate of Starr-Washington High School in Hocking County, Ohio. Ferne attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, then transferred to Kent State University, studying childhood education. She worked for Travelers Insurance in Columbus, Ohio before her marriage.

On May 20, 1954 she married Charles V Stanley in New Marshfield, Ohio. They were married 65 years.

She is survived by four children: Kathy, Peggy, Amy (Matt) and David (Elizabeth); seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Lloyd and James Cruise, and grandchildren Kathy and Kimberly.

Per Ferne's request Dignity Cremation is to take place through the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Ferne A. (Cruise) Stanley
