Jeffery Spencer Obituary

Jeffery Alan Spencer, age 62, of Murray City, Ohio, passed away Aug. 11, 2025 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Jeff was born July 22, 1963 in Nelsonville to Arthur Milton Spencer and Linda Lou Ponn Spencer. He was retired fire chief of Murray City Fire Department.; loved riding ATVs; an avid hunter; and loved his nieces and nephews.

Surviving are his daughters Samantha Spencer (Jessica Johnson) of Anchorage, Alaska; Alexandra Spencer (Casey) of Nelsonville; siblings Scott Spencer (Karla) of Murray City, Jackie Dearing (Wayne) of Hemlock, Jason Spencer (Autumn) of Logan; girlfriend Carrie McDonald of Murray City; and several nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025 at the Brown Funeral Home, Murray City, Ohio. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio.

Calling hours will be observed 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
