Linda Durst Obituary

Linda Unger Durst, 71, of Logan passed away June 16, 2017 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Linda was born Nov. 16, 1945 in Hocking County to William and Florence Mae Unger. She was a graduate of Laurelville High School; retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital after 31 years; was a 4-H adviser; member of St. John Mennonite Church until it closed; and then attended Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son, Jeremy R. Durst of Logan; daughter, Ginger L. (Chris) Johnson of Logan; grandchildren, Allyssa (Isaiah) McCombs, Madelyn Johnson, Cooper Johnson, and Lucas Johnson, all of Logan; great-grandchildren, Hunter Bolden and Lincoln McCombs, both of Logan; siblings, June Kercher, Jean Burns, Bonnie (Tom) Yates, William Unger, Peg Gantzer, Larry (Sue) Unger, Dave (Judy) Unger, Shirley Unger, and Tom (Carolyn) Unger; mother-in-law Esther Durst; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leroy M. Durst, who passed away on Dec. 19, 1987; son Chad Edward Durst, who passed away on June 7, 1973; and father-in-law Ralph Durst, who passed away Oct. 25, 1997.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 20 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan with Rev. Mike Menrath and Rev. Frank Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Bloomingville.
Calling hours will be observed Monday, June 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations can be made to Hocking County 4-H at 150 N. Homer St. Logan, OH 43138 and the Hocking Valley Community Hospital Foundation at P.O. Box 966 Logan, OH 43138.

Just learned of neighbor Linda's passing. Her contribution to the community through organizing and keeping St. John's alive will always be respected and appreciated. A truly dedicated person. We all feel the loss of such an individual.
