Roger Brown Obituary

Roger M. (Pappy) Brown, 96, passed away on February 20, 2016, at his daughter's house in Texas City, Texas.
Roger was born February 9, 1920. He was a proud World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and flew 30 combat missions as a flight engineer and earned the rank of T-Sgt. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion.
He was a member of Christian Apostolic Church in Newark, Ohio, where he was lovingly called "Pappy". He was a UPC minister.

He loved his family, church, friends and loved to fish and just be on the water. He also loved the simple things of life, like just roasting hot dogs with the people he loved.
Roger was a longtime Newark, Ohio resident prior to moving to Texas City, Texas, to be with his son-in-law and daughter, Denny and Susan Dunlap, and also to be near his son and daughter-in-law, Roger Bud Brown and wife.
Roger is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Brown, of over 71 years. Parents of Kaye Ann Porter (Joe) Walsh, Ohio; Susan (Dennis) Dunlap, Texas; Roger (Bud) Flo Brown, Texas; Darda Harper, Tennessee and Mark (Judy) Brown, Ohio.
Roger is survived by a brother, Dale Mowery, of California and a sister, Sarah Hoover, of Ohio. Roger has 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Roger will be greatly missed by his beloved lifelong love, Janie, whom he has been married to since September 19, 1944.
He has four deceased brothers, two deceased sisters and one great-grandson.
Viewing will be at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 895 N. 21st, Newark, Ohio, Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m.

My deepest condolences to the family during this most difficult time. There are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone so beloved. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that your loved one is in God's memory, because those who pass on are precious in his eyes. Psalms 116:15
