Nancy Whaley Obituary

Nancy Whaley Nancy Whaley, 80, with her family by her side, passed away on Sunday, May 16th. Nancy graduated from Woodbine High School in 1958 and later received a certificate from Commercial Extension School of Commerce. On March 17th, 1962, she married William Whaley. Together they raised two sons, Andy and Jon, and two daughters, Cindy and Dena. Nancy was an amazing cook who always knew how to make an occasion special. She passed along many great recipes, some of the most popular dishes included chicken noodle soup and zucchini pie. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, watching game shows and NASCAR, and having a good conversation. She is survived by her husband of 59 years William Whaley, brother Ben Andersen, son Jon (Heather), daughter Cindy (Jim), daughter Dena (Luke), grandchildren Kaleb (Libby), Colette, Jenna, Leah, Gabrielle, Jacob, Mya, James, Haley, Chloe, Fiona, Ariel, Belle, Annaliese, and great grandchildren Togo and Winona. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Harold K. and Norma Andersen, brother Larry Andersen, and son Andy Whaley. She will be missed but we rejoice in the fact she is in Heaven no longer suffering and will cherish the memories she left behind. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th Street, Sheridan, Indiana. Graveside services will follow at Spencer Cemetery in Sheridan.

Nancy and I saw our kids through their school year, through baseball, college and marriages. We stayed friends
and pen pals for years. I miss Nancy and think of her often.

We were friends for many years as our kids played sports. We wrote to each other for years even after I moved to Maine. She was a wonderful friend and mother. I miss her a lot.

I had known Nancy for 50 years and had been her pen pal for 26 years. We both suffered the loss of sons and supported each other during that time. We also had many wonderful memories of baseball games with our kids. She was a wonderful friend and I will always miss her. Cindi

Nancy you will be sadly missed not only by your family, but by the many friends you have earned over the years. You have been the backbone of the family for many years and a true matriarch. I will miss you bunches.

Nancy, you were one of my best friends. I have so many fun memories of our times at Aegis and our Facebook continuation of friendship. You are not gone, you've only changed forms. Prayers for your good family.
