ALICE NUCCIO Obituary

Alice Nuccio, an activist in San Francisco for social justice, died there of cancer on March 21. She played a major role with SF Food Not Bombs, which provides meals for the hungry. The mission statement she created delineating FNB's nonviolent political role was distributed throughout the organization's vast global network. Born in Yonkers on May 9, 1960, Alice graduated from Roosevelt High School and earned a B.A. in environmental science at Harpur College (SUNY) in 1982. A vegetarian, she raised healthful foods on her plot in a community garden. Her regular work involved setting up trade shows. Alice leaves her parents, Edwina and Sal Nuccio of Yonkers, and her sisters, Laura of Binghamton and Susan of Syracuse. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 14, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 100 Underhill Street, Yonkers.
