Barbara Weinbaum Obituary
Barbara J. Weinbaum, a longtime Yonkers resident, passed away surrounded by her family, on April 10, 2017 at the age of 75. Barbara was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Martin and Henrietta Barnes. Barbara was an endearing teacher for the Yonkers Board of Education, who worked her way up to retire as an administrator in the Special Education Department. She was the founder and President of the Dehaven on the Hudson Seniors Group, and current Board President of the Cresthaven Owner's Association. In addition to these organizations, Barbara was an avid reader and world traveler. Barbara is survived by her cherished sons Eric and Martin, daughter-in-laws Tracey and Catherine adoring grandchildren James, Emily, Christopher, Matthew, Michael and her loving brother William. She is predeceased by her beloved husband David. Funeral services to be held TODAY, 11am at WEINSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1652 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers. 914-793-3800. Interment to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the cancer charity of one's choice.
