FLETCHER CHASE Obituary

Fletcher A. Chase, 88 years old, of Howells, NY, formerly of Buchanan and Morris Plains, NJ, died February 15, 2003. He was born April 28, 1914 in Furnace Woods, Cortlandt Manor, to Howard and Flora Gaylord Chase. He was a graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from RPI in Chemical Engineering. While at the school, he was very active at RSE House. He worked for Fleischmann's in Peekskill and then the Jel-Sert Corp., Chicago, IL, where he worked for many years as a chemical engineer and in sales, retiring in 1979. As a result, he holds seven patents in the food industry. In June of 1936, he married Beatrice Chester at the Church of the Divine Love, Sunset, Montrose. He was a former member of the Montrose Fire Dept. and Councilman for the Borough of Morris Plains, NJ. Along with his wife Beatrice of the home address, he is survived by his son Allen F. Chase of Newton, NJ; his daughters Jessica Chase of Vidalia, GA and Beryl Chase of Branchville, NJ; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Two sons, Dana C. and Kim W. Chase predecease him. The family will receive friends at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Inc., 313 N. James St., Peekskill, Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at the Church of the Divine Love, Sunset, Montrose, at 12 Noon, with interment in Sunset Cemetery.
