John Katt Obituary
John S. Katt of Bardonia passed away peacefully at his home on September 20, 2016 with his family by his side, he was 79 years old. John was born July 13, 1937 in New City to Helen and Elberton Katt. He spent his childhood years with his parents working the Katt Farm in New City before marrying his true love Elaine (Rickli) Katt and settling in Bardonia.
John is survived by his daughter Susan Bitts and her husband Paul, of New City, his son John of Bardonia, his daughter Sandy Lauder and her husband Scotty of New City, and his seven grandchildren, which he he loved so much; Paul Jr., Cory, Johnny Jr., Christian, Morgan, Justin, and Scotty. His brother Jim and Lois Katt of Corning, NY and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Ronald.
His warm heart will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. After farming in New City, John founded J.S Katt Paving in 1960. He truly loved his work. His passion for paving is stamped on so many driveways throughout the country and will be carried on through his son John and the Katt Family.
Services will be private as to his wishes. In memory of John S. Katt donations can be made to Hi-Tor Animal Shelter, 65 Fireman's Memorial Dr., Pomona, NY 10970.
