JOHN MURRAY Obituary

John W. Murray died Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at Arden Hill Hospital, Goshen, NY at age 70. He was born August 5, 1929 in New York, NY to Frank and Alice Sullivan Murray. He was a four and a half year resident of Goshen and formerly of Rockland CounHe was married to Mary R. Rogers Murray. He was a self-employed deli owner, Murray's Deli, Nyack, NY. He was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Goshen, NY; member of the AOH, Group 3, Pearl River, NY; Korean Army Veteran, awarded the Purple Heart and Medal of Valor; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Saint John the 23rd, Congers, NY. Survivors include his wife at home; four sons, Jim F. Murray of Harriman, Michael Murray of Haverstraw, Patrick Murray of West Nyack, Timothy Murray of Monroe; four daughters, Ann M. Veneziano of Washingtonville, Mary T. Sbordone of Massachusetts, Kathleen E. Payne of Virginia, Eileen M Coyle of Goshen; three brothers, one sister, 23 grandchildren; predeceased by a son, Kevin Murray. Funeral 9 am Saturday, December 18, 1999 at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 71Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY. Interment at Saint Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Visitation at Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY 7-9 pm on Thursday, December 16, 1999 and 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, December 17, 1999. In lieu of flowers, donations to Venture Crest, Mary Crest Road, West Nyack, NY, 10994.
