Barrella, Joseph John

Joseph John Barrella a resident of Cape Coral, Fl. and a former longtime resident of Port Chester died June 29, 2011. He was 85 and was born November 23, 1925 in Port Chester to the late Rocco and Adeline Olivia Barrella. He graduated from Port Chester high School and served in the United States Army as a Technician 5th Grade. He was a service and delivery person for Chevron Oil Company in Byram, Ct. He was the Widow of the late Louise Addonizio and was then widowed by Stella Avallone. He was a parishioner of the Our lady of Mercy Church and the Saint Kathrine Drexel Church in Florida. He was also a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus in Port Chester and Cape Coral, a member of the Italian American Club and Teamsters Union Local 456. He is survived by his devoted daughters Carol Ann Gonzalez and husband Manny of Cape Coral, Fl. and Lynn Marie Malkin and husband Al of Danbury, Ct. beloved grandfather of Melissa Salvagio, Jennifer Mecca, Jessica Gonzalez and Gabriella Gonzalez and great granddaughter Nancy Lynn Salvagio., sisters Marie Fallanca and Diane Mantegna, brothers Jack, Sal and Peter Barrella, sister in law Carmella Addonizio and several nieces and nephews and very close friend Yvette Conklin of Cape Coral, Fl. Besides his wives he was predeceased by his son Joseph Rocco Barrella, brother Rocco Barrella and niece Lisa Barrella Mazzullo. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Our Lady of Mercy Church 260 Westchester Ave. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery Hartsdale, NY.
