Joseph Taccetta Obituary
Tappan, NY - Joseph (Giuseppe) Philip Taccetta passed on to eternal life on Thursday, December 27th surrounded by his family that he loved so much. Joe grew up in the Bronx where he met the love of his life, Madeline Esposito. They were wed on January 2, 1948. Joe and Madeline moved to Tappan in 1966 and became active in the community. He served as President of the South Orangetown Republican Committee and was an Election Inspector for many years. Joe had his own dental laboratory which he ran until he "retired" at the age of 84. Although retired, Joe continued his tinkering with all types of mechanical devices from lawn mowers to vacuum cleaners. He truly was a "Jack of all trades."
Joe is survived by his wife Madeline, brother-in-law Ed Wilson, son Joseph (Teresa), daughter Diane Vogt (Steven), and daughter Christine Mercurio (Anthony). He is affectionately known as Grandpa to Nicole Taccetta, Danielle Tyson (Brett), Jessica Contino (David), Peter John Graziano, Amanda Kaplan (Stephen), Joseph Mercurio (Marissa), Anthony Mercurio (Nicole), and Jenni-Ann Mercurio. Joe relished being the Great Grandpa to Lucas Joseph and Piper Rose.
We will be celebrating his life with a Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan on Monday, December 31st, 10am. Family and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Sunday, December 30th from 2-6pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, NY.

Joe was a longtime friend of mine
we were both very active as members of the Orangetown Republican Committee. Joe also
served as President of the South
Orangetown Republican Club.
We shared many good times together always enjoying each others company he will be missed by many people in the community
