KAREN DeVITO Obituary

Karen Johnson DeVito, 86, of Shelton, CT passed away November 18, 2003. Karen was a long time resident of Sun City Center, Florida and moved to CT in 1999. Karen was born on January 5, 1917 in Sweden to Anna and J. Albert Johnson. She immigrated to America in 1924 settling with her parents in Hibbing, Minnesota until she began her working career with the United States Government in Washington, D.C. Karen was married to the late William J. DeVito of New York City. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Roonzani of Hibbing, MN, niece Linda Mossorofo of Milford, CT, Diane Minor of Duluth, MN, Delrae Smith of Esko, MN, and nephew Dale Johnson of Sun Valley, Idaho; three grandnieces, six grandnephews along with many in-laws and friends all over the country whose love and friendships she always cherished. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at Our Lady of Shkodra Church, West Hartsdale Avenue, NY at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, on Thursday, from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Fairfield County Chapter, 607 Main Street, Norwalk, CT
