MAE VARBERO Obituary

Mae Varbero, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 3, 2007. She was 92 years old. She was born December 18, 1914 in Port Chester to the late Canio and Maria Summa Vaccaro. She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School. She was married October 23, 1939 at Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester to Gus Varbero. Mrs. Varbero worked at Jim and Fran's Stationary Store in Port Chester. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and a member of the Port Chester Seniors. She was the devoted wife of Gus Varbero of Rye, NY, Loving mother of Rocky Varbero and his wife, Pat of Harrison, NY, Beloved grandmother to Anne Marie Milot and her husband, J.P. of Ridgefield, CT, and Mark Varbero of Harrison, NY and Chrissy Varbero of Port Chester, NY, and great-grandmother to Amanda Mae and Logan Anthony. Dear sister to Salvatore Vaccaro of Denver, CO and John Vaccaro of Rye Brook, NY, Gertrude "Trudy" Latella of Port Chester, NY, and Carmela "Carrie" Catalano of Port Chester, NY, and favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony "Gush" Varbero in 1980 and brothers, Anthony "Ty" and William Vaccaro. "She will be best remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends, her warm smile and her ability to make you smile." Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm on Monday, August 6, 2007 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am at Corpus Christi Church, 136 South Regent St., Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Don Bosco Center, 22 Don Bosco Place, Port Chester, NY 10573.
