Mary Stritmater Obituary

Stritmater, Mary Ann

Mary Ann Stritmater of Sloatsburg NY passed away May 28, 2015 at home surrounded by her family she was 94. She was born in Tuxedo NY to the late Joseph and Anna (Kruly) Izzo, she moved to Sloatsburg in 1929 and attended local schools there. Mary's husband August W. Stritmater, was the love of her life and they were devoted to each other for over 73 years. Mary served for over 50 years as a member the Sloatsburg Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a charter member of the Sloatsburg Ambulance Corps., she also served on the parish council of St Joan of Arc Church.

May is survived by her sons August Jr., (Lesile), and Robert (Catherine), she also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mary is pre-deceased by her son Joseph, grand daughter Kimberly Stritmater-Durkin, 1 sister and 7 brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church in Sloatsburg friends may call on Tuesday rom 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Scarr Funeral Home Inc Route 202 Suffern. In lieu of flowers donations to United Hospice of Rockland 11 Stokum Lane New City Ny 10956 would be appreciated.
