Matthew Murtagh Obituary
Matthew J. Murtagh of Stony Point died Monday April 29, 2013 at Nyack Hospital. He was 77. Matthew was born January 23, 1936 in New York City to the late Matthew F. and Hannah (Sullivan) Murtagh. He worked until his retirement at Mabstoa Transit in New York City. He was an active member of the B.P.O.E. Haverstraw Elks #877 and a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Matthew is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Maura, daughters Carole Golden of Stony Point, Marie and her husband Scott Palmer of Nyack, his grandchildren Miles Golden, Kyle and Matthew Palmer. His is also survived by his sisters Helen Reddin, Ann Richardell, Betsy Baxter, many nieces and nephews.
Matthews visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home GARNERVILLE. Matthew's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
