MICHAEL MIAZGA Obituary

Michael Miazga, a lifelong resident of Port Chester, died January 10, 2003. He was 83 and born September 7, 1919 in Port Chester to the late Martin and Magdalena Smialek Miazga. He was raised and educated in Port Chester. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a Quarter Master, 3rd Class. He served in tours throughout the European Theatre and the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Miazga was married on August 5, 1944 in Port Chester to Angela Terico. Mrs. Miazga died March 25, 1987. He was employed for many years at the Wendon Company in Stamford, CT, as a Machinist Foreman until his retirement. Mr. Miazga is survived by his son Robert Miazga of Danbury, CT and daughter Judith Curtin, of Port Chester; brothers: Joseph Miazga of Bath, NY and Kenneth Miazga of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister Stella Miazga of Old Greenwich, CT and grandchildren: Christine, Michele and Karen Miazga. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Andrew Miazga and sister Natalie Miazga. Visitation will be at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, January 13, 2003 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2003, 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Henry Street, Greenwich, CT. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Port Chester-Rye Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 417 Ellendale Ave., Port Chester, NY 10573, or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680 North Canton, OH 44720.
