Rita Fitzpatrick Obituary
Fitzpatrick, Rita (née: McGarry), in her 93rd year. Born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. Married to Peter (deceased 2001) for 59 years. Survived by her children Peter (Girlie) Scarborough, ME, Paul (Una) West Nyack, NY, Eileen (late Joseph) Flynn, Long Beach, NY, Mary Ann, Long Beach, NY, Chris (Theresa) Rockville Centre, NY, late Joseph (Deirdre) and the late Timothy. Rita attended St. Francis Xavier HS, Park Slope, NY and for many years was the secretary to the Principal of St. Francis Prep. After moving to New City, NY, Rita worked in the library at Dominican College. Rita and Pete moved to Long Beach in 1999. Rita was so proud of her 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and always looked forward to happy occasions with her family and friends. Rita and Pete had a lifelong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and said the rosary together every day of their lives. Reposing Macken Mortuary, Rockville Centre Chapel, 52 Clinton Ave Thursday 7-9 pm, Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass Saturday 9 am St. Agnes Cathedral, Rockville Centre, NY. Interment Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, NY. I will not be able to attend the Funeral , I am heading to Florida to see Jimmy and grandchildren this weekend.
I am so glad we got to spend time with Rita at Jennifer's and Andrew's Wedding in August.
Our thoughts and prayers will be with you as you adjust to loss of your Mom and our oldest living relative.
Our comfort comes from knowing that absent from the body face to face with the Lord.
