RITA GOFF Obituary

Rita J. Goff passed away at home in Needham, MA on February 26, 2008. Former long time resident of Crestwood, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Born and lived on Ogden Avenue in the Bronx, and enjoyed many summers in Long Beach. A beautiful women inside and out-loving mother, former Harry Conover model in the 1940's, a heck of a line dancer, avid fitness enthusiast, and a great swimmer who could make friends with a whole pool full of people in under an hour. Rita was a member of Annunciation Parish who was active in the PTA and Women's Guild. She lived her life with grace, dignity, courage and optimism. Beloved wife of the late Alfred W. Goff. She will be greatly missed by her loving children Bill and his wife Mimi Goff of Alexandria ,VA, Michael G. Goff of Needham, MA, James P. Goff of Yonkers, NY and Linda M. and her husband Jim Mitchell of Needham, MA. Rita is also survived by her seven adoring grandchildren; Geoffrey, Laura, Katelyn, Jimmy, Kelly, Bridget and Deirdre. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Mae Hunt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Annunciation Church in Crestwood on Monday March 3rd at 10:00AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Fred H. McGrath and Son Inc., 20 Cedar St. Bronxville, NY on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers memorials in Rita's name may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital-Freedom Trail Clinic, Attn Aidan Parkinson, Development Office, 165 Cambridge St. Suite 600, Boston MA 02114.
