VINCENT GALTERIO Obituary

Dr. Vincent A. Galterio, a resident of Bedford and formerly of New Rochelle for 65 years, passed away on July 30. He was 88 years old. Dr. Galterio was born on July 6, 1919 in the Bronx. He graduated from Columbia University and received his medical degree in Podiatry from Long Island University before establishing a practice in Pelham where he served the community for more than four decades. He was also a Lieutenant in the US Navy, serving from 1942 to 1946. He was a past president of the Pelham Lions Club, the Pelham Children's Theatre and the Boy Scouts of New Rochelle. Dr. Galterio is survived by his daughters, Joan Blume (Larry) of Napier, New Zealand and Linda Pierce (Sam) of Bedford; sons, Vincent (Judy) of Anchorage, Alaska and Robert (Margaret) of Bedford; he is the beloved grandfather of Lisa, Erin, Clare, Jeffry, Molly, Cara, and Mary Grace. He is predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Josephine Paino, and his granddaughter, Angela. Visiting Sunday 5-9 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. Mass Monday, 9:30 am, at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Westchester Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Sisto & Paino, Inc.
