WILLIAM POHLMANN Obituary

William H. Pohlmann, a resident of Ardsley, NY was a victim of the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001. He was born in the Bronx on December 16, 1944 to the late Joseph and Frances Pohlmann. He received his BA from Bernard Baruch School of Business in 1966 and his JD from St. John's University Law School in 1968. Since December 2000, Bill was the Assistant Deputy Commissioner for the NYS Department of Tax Enforcement. Previously he was Assistant to the Chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators and Law Clerk to State Supreme Court Justices. He also served as Acting Village Justice in Ardsley. He has been listed in Who's Who in American Law. He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army JAG Corps Reserves. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Ardsley Fire Department since 1984 and served two terms as President of the Engine Company. He was active in the Republican Party and served as Chairman of the Greenburgh Republican Town Committee. He was a lector at OLPH Church and coached little league and soccer teams. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda, and sons, Craig, 26, Christopher, 25, and Darren, 23. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph, and 11 nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 1 pm at Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale. Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Ardsley Fire Department, 507 Ashford Avenue, Ardsley, NY, 10502, to benefit the spouses and children of firefighters and police officers who perished in the World Trade Center.
