Alexa Olivera Obituary

Alexa Rae Olivera
Alexa Rae Olivera died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the sweet age of 16.
Alexa was born February 8, 1995 in Lompoc to Jeffrey and Deanne Olivera.  She attended local schools and was currently enrolled as a junior at Cabrillo where she loved belonging to Cabrillo water polo and swimming.  She was part of the Junior Lifeguards program with the California State Beach Department.  She was a born cheerleader and spoke out when she felt it was necessary.  She took pictures as a child and never quit composing.  She would write and draw for days and never questioned her self-expression.  She always read and was a disciple of knowledge and truth.  She would fish with her father and cook vegan dishes with her mother.
Our darling Alexa was the light in all of us, a light that could never die.  Alexa lived a thousand lives, and to say it simply she loved life.  She was a fighter and a determined soul.  She loved people and made friends everywhere she went.  She loved animals so much that she refused to eat them.  She loved plants.  They gave her strength and she surrounded herself with mother earth's beautiful flowers.
In addition to her parents Alexa is survived by her brothers Nathaniel and Zachary, her grandparents Jim and Joan Olivera, George and Beverly Williams and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private interment took place in the Olivera family plot in the Lompoc Cemetery

Even though we didn't hang out all of the time, the times that we did meant a lot to me. You were always laughing and saying funny things that I'll never forget. I'm glad that I was fortunate enough to call you a friend. I still miss you each and everyday. It's weird not seeing your smiling face for such a long time. <3

Aw the sweet sweet Alexa. I known you since you were in my Spanish class at Cabrillo High you were so happy always smiling and joking around. You were so intelligent full of hope and dreams it makes my heartache to know that you are gone. I miss you so much, I will visit you every week my love. Your forever in my heart. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Oh Alexa, how I miss you, you always knew how to make me smile, just your voice.
How you said my name with every greet and goodbye, it seems like yesterday I first met you, it seems like yesterday I last saw you.
Save me a nice, warm, comfy seat right by you. Pardon me if I take a while, I'm still glorifying everything you've blessed this earth with, you've changed it, you made a huge difference. I saw you the other day in photo, Amber and I were talking about you and how you loved everything when a little dragonfly fly around the class a few times. Goes to show, when you kill a butterfly in the past it drastically changes the future. You were a butterfly, and nothing will ever be the same without you Lexy.

Dear Family,
Alexa was in my class at Bright Beginnings Preschool. She was one of very few that would still say "hi" to me after so many years. I will never forget her beautiful smile, and she always had the best stories to go along with whatever she brought for show and tell. She loved sharing with the class about all the wonderful things her Grandma got for her. She was a joy to be around. I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart aches. Your family is in my thaughts and prayers.

Dear Family of Alexa Olivera. I do not know your family nor did I know your beautiful daughter Alexa. I share your pain as I too, lost my daughter some years ago. The pain is indescribable and you will grieve for the rest of your lives. Please know that even strangers are praying for you and we are asking God to help you through this heart breaking time. May you find some measure of comfort in knowing that a community of friends, family and yes, even strangers understand your pain and are praying for you. May her memories and the comfort of knowing how much we all care sustain you, bless you and in time your heart will be able to smile at all the wonderful memories of your Alexa. God bless you. A person who cares for you and your loss. Love and peace.
