Carrie Chase Obituary

Carrie Robin Chase
Carrie Robin Chase, born May 28, 1959, in Santa Ana, CA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2011.
Carrie graduated from Cal Poly, SLO with a teaching degree in Home Economics and received a Masters in Special Education. She began her teaching career at Vandenburg Middle School in the early 1980's teaching Home Economics and Science. She formed a state chapter of the Future Homemakers of America at VMS, which was so popular at school that it became the largest chapter in the state. Moving to the Hawaiian Island of Maui, Carrie taught for several years before returning to her home in Arroyo Grande where she taught science at Lompoc Valley Middle School. During that time several of her students asked her to start a Bible Believer's Club that was attended by many students. Carrie had a gift of reaching out to people, especially her students. They knew she genuinely loved and cared for them.
For the past five years, Carrie worked as a trainer with The Center For Teacher Effectiveness, and was recently promoted to director.
She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend. She will always be remembered for her faith in Christ and her spontaneous zest for life.
Carrie is survived by her son Charles Robert Chase, her parents Robert and Carolyn Chase and her siblings Merril Allen, Marty Arismendi, and Bill Chase.
A memorial celebration of Carrie's life will be held on Monday, July 18th, at 1 p.m. at Grace Bible Church located at 100 Rodeo Dr., in Arroyo Grande. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lime's Disease Research in care of Carrie's family.
Arrangements under the direction of the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach.

(I know this old).
I do not know her, but I technically know her son, Charles. I would like to try and reach out to him for family/personal reasons. If anyone knows of his whereabouts, and hopefully he is ok. Please, reach out to me. I would like to know him.

I was a friend of Carrie and her boyfriend Charlie Daum at Cal Poly. I wanted to let her know that I named my new puppy after Charlie and that I was still thinking of her. I am so sorry to learn of her passing. She was a wonderful person.

Carrie was my first friend at St. Mary's High School in Stockton, CA. As a protestant, I was a little apprehensive about attending a catholic hs. Carrie, a fellow protestant was my first protestant/christian friend (and we shared the same birthday!). God bless her surviving family and friends. Carrie: I'll see you in heaven some day. Save a seat at The Table for me.

I too have Lyme, and although I did not know Carrie, I am deeply saddened by the loss of this wonderful woman. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers, and I continue to pray for the medical community to start taking Lyme disease seriously and find a cure!

Although I did not know Carrie and I live far away in the Netherlands, each time a person dies from Lyme Disease the whole Lyme community feels it. As a fellow Lyme patient for about 25 years now, this saddens and angers me greatly. I am not religious and taking lives like this, is one of the reaons why. I do hope she is in a better, less painful place now.

Dear Chase Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you all today; Memories are wonderful to reflect upon -- all the fun and good times. It's hard to overcome the emptyness and void as we cry for the loss of our loved one. Take one day at a time to realign your life. May God comfort you and grant you the courage and strength needed now. My prayers are with you for your healing heart.
With deepest sympathy and heartfelt understanding, Heidi Danieli

What a tremendous loss to any family; but huge to such a close knit family as the Chase Family. Our hearts go out to young Charles and we will remember him in our prayers forever. Cheryl and Pat Patmon, Stockton, CA

I am having a difficult time articulating my thoughts. Carrie was such a dear, dear friend to me; I cannot imagine the tremendous loss suffered by her wonderful, loving family. She always spoke so highly of them. I enjoyed countless afternoons with her and wish for just that "one more moment with her" - swimming, laughing, talking, nurturing memories for Charlie. She treated my children with such kindness, but that is what she always did. She loved children. I will miss her company - I cannot say how much. I love her and will feel a loss every single day.

To the Family of Carrie Chase,

I had the privilege of working at LVMS while Carrie taught there and my daughter was a student of hers for two years. Carrie was a sweet and kind woman, truly devoted to her students. May your wonderful memories
and the knowledge of a life lived with purpose, be of comfort to you now.

Carrie has had such a powerful impact on the students of Lompoc Valley. My sons were greatly impacted by her love for them and her mentoring through the Bible Believers Club. Her witness for Christ was powerful. We will miss her, her beautiful smile and encouraging words.

Wonderful teacher to my girls at LVMS. When we had to give away our guinea pig, they immediately told me to give Pepper to her class. She took Pepper without hesitation. One of few teachers whose names are still mentioned in our house. Safe journey.

Knowing Carrie has been one of the greatest gifts to my life. I count her among the closest circle of friends that I have had. Her spontaneous joy, her faith in Christ, and her love of people has been an inspiration to me. I will miss you terribly dear, gentle, generous spirit. I will take comfort knowing that you have joined the Harp and Bowl Ministry in heaven that we knew as only a "shadow"here. I will love you forever.
