Gladys Reid
Services for Gladys Reid, 83, of Lompoc, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Michael Cunningham of St. Mary's Episcopal Church officiating.
Gladys was born December 1, 1926 in Kavala, Greece to Andreas and Koula Saintanidis Vasiloudis.  As a young girl, she was captured by Germans during World War II and ended up working at a food camp for German soldiers in Vienna, Austria.  A kind Austrian family took her in to work for them.  She married George Reid in Denver, Colorado on March 16, 1953.  For 35 years, she was a co-owner of an antique import & wholesale business in San Francisco and Salem, Oregon.  Gladys has resided in Lompoc since 1997.
She died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
Survivors (spouses) include her husband of 57 years, George Reid of Lompoc; daughters, Jackie (Al) Jaenicke of Lompoc, Vicky (Kosta) Danopoulos of Fremont, Calif.; son, George A. Reid of Orlinda, Calif.; brother, George (Mary) Vasiloudis of Athens, Greece; grandchildren, Katelyn, Daniel, Megan Reid Panos, and Andreas Danopoulos; nieces Vicky Linn and Georgina Herman; and nephew Andrew Vasiloudis. 
Gladys was proud of her three children, a successful business and her husband of 57 years.
