Joseph Van Hook Obituary
Joseph Francis Van Hook passed away Saturday July, 23, 2011. Joseph was born in San Diego, CA on April 6, 1959.
He leaves behind his wife of 25 years Peggy, his daughters; Sandra, Stephanie, and Linda, and one grandson Aiden.
Joseph lived most of his life on the central coast; he attended Santa Barbara High School where he was very active in football and wrestling. He served in the US Navy and was discharged with honors on November 20, 1978. He was proud of his county and enjoyed being a "pyroadie" working as a member of many crews for the 4th of July Firework shows throughout California. He did many wood crafts for family and friends making everything from puzzles for small children to beautiful carvings. Joseph was an incredible person who didn't let constant pain get in the way of his life. He enjoyed woodwork, pyrotechnic work, racing go carts, camping and a good game of croquet with friends.
He was a wonderful grandfather who could be found on many days enjoying a cool dip in the kiddie pool in the back yard with Aiden. Joe will be missed by many for his fun loving attitude and his willingness to help others. He did countless hours of volunteer work for the Lompoc Vaulters; everything from fixing fences to hauling horses. He was always there to support his friends any way he could. We love you Joe, have a peaceful and pain free rest.
There will be a memorial service on Friday July 29, 2011 at 1:00PM at United Church of Christ, 3346 Constellation road, Vandenberg Village, Lompoc, CA 93436.
The family requests in lieu of flowers please send a donation in his memory to the Lompoc Vaulters, at Rabobank, 828 North H St. Lompoc, CA 93436.

Peggy, Sandra, Stephanie, and Linda, we were devasted to hear the news and so sorry for your loss! Joe was one of our best friends and we really missed him after we moved away. May he rest easy and pain free now, and hopefully he will be able to play a good game of croquet in heaven.
