David Yates Obituary

GEORGETOWN -- David A. Yates,64, passed away Monday, June 30, 2003, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. He was born November 30, 1938, in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Robert D. and Mildred I. Bobbitt Yates. He was a retired 20-year US Navy veteran and also as a communication technician from AT&T in Louisville. He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Louisville, Okolona Masonic Lodge, Harmony Chapter #273 Order of the Eastern Star, Amateur Radio Emergency Service of Harrison County, IN, and Clark County, IN, Amateur Radio Club. He was also past master of Teikoku Masonic Lodge in Okinawa, Japan. Survivors include his wife, Ilene Kelso Yates; son, Robert David Yates of Scottsburg, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Scott Gray of Simpsonville, KY; sister, Carol Irene Kron of Tower, MN; and grandchildren, Krista and Jessica Yates and Andrew Gray. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy. 64 NW, Ramsey, IN, with burial in Milltown (IN) Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the donor's favorite charity, American Lung Association or American Heart Association.
