As a child growing up David would come get me almost every weekend! I would be so thrilled because I knew that no matter what I would have the time of my life. Rather it was playing basketball or doing homework just me knowing that I would be with David was an adventure. Through my 29 years of living I have David to thank for teaching me how to be strong, respectful, competitive,a hard worker and I could go on for hours about what I learned from him! If I could talk to him one last time I would just thank him for showing me how to be a man.

In spite of their unbearable grief,
Bruce, Vicki and Candy orchestrated an amazing 70th birthday and life celebration for David.
The love in the room was palpable. It was truly comforting to have been able to share in that love and in the grief.
All of the great stories from his family and friends and the amazing pictures that were shared of David were proof of a life well lived.
It was the beginning of the healing of our broken hearts.
Thank you.

My thoughts and prayers are with David's family and friends at this difficult time. I am an old friend and knew David when we both attended W.K.U. He was a special guy and we remained friends for several years. I last spoke to him about 5 years ago. Sadly, I found out the tragic news on the day he would have turned 70.
With sincere sympathy,
Amy

Shopping for his house & furniture, painting, staining (his house, my house, his parent's house, packing, moving, searching for my lost cat, sitting on the floor swapping stories waiting for a couch to be delivered, convertible riding, so many meals shared, sharing conversations of the past, aspirations for our future and what great upcoming adventure might be on the schedule. But mostly, it was always fun and laughter whether we were at paid jobs or our own project work. Despite insomnia, any personal problems, Dave always had time to listen or help. He was a bright light that always shined brightly and I am so proud to say he was my friend.

David was one of the kindest, caring, sweetest men I have ever known. He had a gentle spirit. I was fortunate to have met him years ago, in the 70's and even though we didn't talk or see each other often, when we did - it felt like it was only yesterday that we had. It was a pleasure having known him. He was liked, loved and revered by many. His passing has left a whole in many hearts, including mine. He will be sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened at the loss of David, who was a kind, funny, intelligent man. My condolences to his brother and his sister-in-law, and also to the rest of his Med School family who will miss him terribly. Working with David always brightened our day; his wry wit and generosity of spirit lightened the hearts of those around him. The good he did in his work and his daily life is incalculable.
