Michael Burden Obituary
64, loving husband to Deborah Higdon Burden, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on Monday May 25, 2015 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
Mike was born to the late Chalmer Burden and Ethel Minnie Parks Burden in Bowling Green, KY on July 19, 1950.
Mike was a retired police officer for the City of Shively and was currently the Code Enforcement Officer for Shively. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Shively FOP Lodge 17, and River City Masonic Lodge 966 F. & A. M.
Besides Debby, his wife of 45 years, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Schweitzer (Mark); grandson, Corey Bratcher (Maggie); step-granddaughters, Jordan and Blake Schweitzer along with his mother Minnie Burden.
A celebration of Mike's life will be Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Shively Community Building, 1901 Park Road, Shively, KY. Funeral services will be Friday, May 29, 2015 at 4 p.m. at the Shively Community Building. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a. m. until time of service at the Community Building.
Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

We were very saddened to hear of the passing, we only met him while we were all on vacation, but he was a gentleman, a great sense of humor and a pleasure to be with. I'm sure he is giving the Angels a tough time in heaven!

It's been nearly a year now since Mike's passing and it still does not seem real. I still expect his phone calls and visits. True best friends are very rare. Miss you Mike.

We grew up one street over on Deveron, our Mother worked with Minnie at BW. We shared many great times with the family and remember Mike fondly. So sorry for your loss I'm sure all of Shively will miss him. Our prayers are with you.
