Paul Metts Obituary

Paul E. Metts, Jr.

Louisville - 75, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021.

A native of St. Cloud Minnesota, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a former heavy equipment operator with Bramer Construction. Paul was a passionate collector and restorer of antique vehicles. His collection includes two corvettes, and a 55 Chevy, to name a few. He was a member of River Cities Corvette Club and IUOE Local 181.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor (Belmont) and Paul Metts, Sr.; sister, Judy Kasperski and nephew, Craig Kasperski.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn (Cash) Metts; brothers, Denny Metts (Susan) and John Metts (Cathy); sister, Barbara Spalding (Adro); brother-in-law, Jerry Kasperski and his extended Cash family.

Paul's visitation will be from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.

His funeral will be private. Burial will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

I met Paul when we were in the Army at Ft.Knox. and i lived in the neighboirhood off upper hunter Trace.he gave me rides back to Ft,Knox after weekend visits home.could tell he was a extremely nice person and sorry i did not see him much after getting out of the Army as I am a car guy also.to his family I am sorry for your loss.I know you lost someone special.

Hi Carolyn,
My heart is with you! You and Paul were such an amazing couple. I loved waiting on you all on Friday nights at Jerry's. He would get iced tea and all- you- can- eat -fish and you would get either a Mexican Salad with extra picante sauce or Spaghetti and a salad and a dt.coke. Sending you prayers and hugs. I'm so lucky that I had a chance to know such a great soul. God bless you my friend.

Paul Metts was a great man. He taught me a lot about operating cranes when we worked together at Bramer he also taught me all I know about fixing cars. He was my go to guy for anything I needed to know about fixing my truck. I love you old friend you will be missed greatly Rest In Peace old friend. Paul was like a brother to us we loved him dearly. We will miss him so much he
took us to Hubers on his and my birthday every year. He took us sight seeing to see his work he was loved by every body. Thank God he's out of pain and sleeping in Jesus arms. We will meet him again
