Burger, Robert Allen

"Cheeseburger",

53, of Louisville passed away Sunday October 12, 2014 at Jewish Hospital with his family and friends by his side.

Allen never met a stranger, loved to sing, attended Eastern Kentucky University, an organ donor, a member of Anchorage Presbyterian Church and a retired over the road truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his father; Eddie Allen Burger Jr., grandparents; Rose & Eddie Allen Burger Sr. and sister; Barbara Ellen Burger.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Debra Compton Burger; children, Cassandra Paige "Casi" Burger, Trevor Daniel Burger; mother, Joyce Cochran Burger; brothers, Bruce Lee Burger (Laura), Mark Edward Burger (Deanna); and many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday October 16, 2014 at Anchorage Presbyterian Church with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to the American Heart Association, The Wounded Warrior Project or The American Diabetes Foundation.

So sorry to hear of Allen passing.
His mother and I were high school classmates. His father and I were from the little village of Worthington. I never knew Allen but if he was like his father,I can tell you he had a wonderful laugh.

Such sadness over hearing of Allen's passing. He was a friend to all and had the biggest, most contagious laugh. So many fond memories of our days spent at the softball field, Pizza Hut and with the youth group. God speed Big Al. Prayers for comfort and peace for all your family and loved ones.
