Robert Moore Obituary

Moore, Robert Keith,

As Bob would say: "Just tell them I died!" So there it is! Bob slipped into new life on May 13, 2017. Chicago, Il was where Bob was born on December16, 1934, the son of Guy S. and Ursula E. (Fischenich) Moore. He and Bobbie (Nowaczyk) met and sang together at Musichorale in Chicago. They married in Hawaii on October 13, 1976. Forty years of married bliss. Yuk! Yuk!

Bob worked at ANCO (Cherry-Burrell) for 30 years. Driving, his cat Cheyenne, bird watching, mountains and wildflowers were lifelong passions. He loved working on cars and fixing things around the house. You didn't call a repairman when Bob was around! Most people remember Bob for his quick wit and breadth of knowledge. Volunteering with the Prison Ministry on Monday nights at Luther Luckett Correctional Facility was his religious community.

Surviving Bob is his wife Bobbie; brother, Guy Moore (Julie); sister, Mary Ann Schlacks (recently deceased Conrad); many beloved nieces, nephews, and his family of friends/caregivers. Predeceasing Bob are his parents; brother Bill; nephews Mike Moore, Chuckie Chapin; niece Berta Foxworthy; brothers-in-law Conrad Schlacks, Frank Nowaczyk Jr (Jeanette), Jerry Nowaczyk (Kum Suk), and James Sisk (Maryanne).

Visiting will be on Thursday, May 25, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, with a prayer service at 7:30 in Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road. On Friday, March 26, there is visiting at 9:00 am, with a celebration of Bob's life at 10:00 am, St. William Catholic Church, 1226 W. Oak St. A luncheon will follow at Hotel Louisville, 120 W. Broadway.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hildegard House, 114 Adams Street, 40206; the Louisville Nature Center, 3745 Illinois Ave., 40213; or The Parklands, 471 W. Main St., 40202.

One day I stopped by your home, probably to pick up flowers or seeds. Both of you enjoyed sharing your corner of the earth.
Bob was sitting outside, quietly observing Mother Nature. A hummingbird had been visiting him, sitting on Bob's shoulder--the red shirt and quiet spirit attracted the bird. Of the experience, his body language spoke volumes. His commune with nature was what he did.
