Ronald Valentine Obituary

Ronald Dwain Valentine

Louisville - Ronald Dwain Valentine, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Ronald was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John Bowling Valentine and late Betty Jo Taylor. Ronald spend most of his childhood between Louisville and Corbin, Kentucky. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville Speed School, was a P.E. in Texas and Kentucky, and went on to have a successful career in energy management. He eventually started his own consulting business, Premier Energy Solutions, which allowed him ample opportunity to enjoy spending time with his family and his beloved pet dog, working on his cars, riding motorcycles, and playing and listening to music.

Ronald was deeply loving and emotionally sensitive. He regarded relationships with his family and friends as ultimately important. Those who were close to Ronald were familiar with his personal and ongoing struggles, but Ronald was always ready with advice, help, or support for those who needed it. He readily welcomed new friends, took immense joy in seeing others happy, and entertained his loved ones with his humor. On the last day of his life, he enjoyed a beautiful sunny day while washing and detailing his CJ-7 Jeep—this was one of his favorite leisure activities.

He is survived by his children, Taylor Valentine, Marina Dolzhanskaya (Valentine), Laura Valentine, and a soon-to-be born grandson. Ronald is also survived by his ex-wife Mary Jane Salot (Valentine), his older brother, John Valentine and the rest of his family, and Maui Valentine.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation from 11AM-2PM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate gifts in his memory to the Steven Vanover Memorial Research and Scholarship Fund (http://stevenvanover.org) or to the Morton Center (http://www.themorton-center.org/donate/).

i want to express my condolences to the family of Ronnie. I am deeply saddened, and will miss him, his music, charm and friendship. Ronnie crossed my path in Houston back in the eighties. He and I became immediate friends, as well as seekers of higher enlightenment. I'm remembering buying my first computer, an Apple II, and convincing Ronnie to buy one. We shared the biggest joke ever, after he purchased an Atari, and I laughed and said... "You bought A-TOY-E!!!

I will always remember my friend!
