Tom Cockerel Obituary
Tom E. Cockerel Sr., 69, of Hillview returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Mr. Cockerel served with the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart, then served with the Navy. He was an engineer with Motorola, and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Among those that have preceded him in death include his parents, Ezra Thomas & Ann Margaret Cockerel; brother, Troy Michael Cockerel; and close family friend, John O'Neal. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Carol Young Cockerel; sons Tommy Cockerel Jr. a Master Chief with the U.S. Coast Guard, Joseph Cockerel (Jennifer) a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S Navy; grandchildren, Caroline, Ian, Molly, Jordan; sister, Deloris Ann Prather (Richard); and brother, Alvin Ray Cockerel (Leila).
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 10:00am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood, & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. www.subfuneralhome.com

It is NOW Oct. 24,2021 and I just Heard about Tom's passing. We worked together at Motorola for Several Years. I REALLY Liked Tom, He was One Cool Friend !!. And We're BOTH Vet's Too !!!. Enclosed is a picture of ALL Tom's Friends at Motorola, letting Him Know WE ALL were Thinking about Him !!. And HE will be MISSED Too !!!.

I am so sorry for your loss to Carol and Tom's family, Tom was a sweet man. Tom :Thank you for your brave service to our country, May God Bless Tom and his family, until the time they all are reunited together in heaven, someday :)
