In 2014, fifteen of my college friends and I drove down to Alabama from Madison, Wisconsin, for spring break. While we were there we somehow met Tyler. His magnetic personality and charisma led to his legendary status amongst our friends, and even years later when we reminisced about that trip Gerths name was always brought up. He was genuine, he was kind, and he was a hell of a good time. We are all saddened by the news of Gerths passing, and we offer our humble condolences to his friends and family. He was clearly loved by many.

Tyler
I wasnt lucky enough to have met you, but what I have read about you is that you are one incredible young man. More guys should have their head in the places you had yours. Im sure you went straight to heaven. God bless you and God bless your family. RIP, you are missed and loved. Wished I could say more to ease the pain for every one one you left behind.

Itd been to long, Tyler.
Though weve grown apart through the years, Ive never forgotten you and the friendship we had. I remember when we attended the funeral of one less fortunate who had few to remember and celebrate their life. I hope, as your family wishes, that you can spur the same generosity and love in us that we saw live in you. Youre a beautiful soul and live on through us in this way. You always remain my friend.
With love,
Richard Douglas
